WGID 2025: XV Workshop on Digital Identity Management

CALL FOR PAPERS

SBSeg 2025: XXV Brazilian Symposium on Cybersecurity
Foz do Iguaçu – PR – September 1-4, 2025

PRESENTATION

Identity and Access Management (IAM) is necessary for cloud, federated, and distributed technologies, such as blockchain. It is an integrated system of policies, processes, and technologies that allow organizations to process and manipulate the identities of their users and their devices in identification, authentication, authorization, accounting, and auditing procedures.

This active research topic continues to receive attention from service providers, for example, to ensure the protection of the resources they offer, and from users, for example, to ensure their privacy. Research and practice in identity management must consider often conflicting points, such as ease of use, robust authentication mechanisms, user privacy and anonymity, security, single sign-on and continuous authentication, scalability, fine-grained access control, interoperability, and total cost of ownership.

The XV Workshop on Digital Identity Management (WGID) aims to be a forum to bring together researchers and stakeholders in the field for discussions and technical presentations of works on the state of the art, methodologies and technologies related to identity management. In addition, the presentation of ideas and work in progress is very welcome, as well as the sharing of practical experiences, whether positive or negative.

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

This edition of the XV WGID will accept contributions in two categories:

Extended abstracts (up to 4 pages): an abstract may describe research challenges arising from practical problems, success/failures reporting benefits/obstacles and lessons learned, practical studies with empirical evidence, reports on the use of innovative methods, techniques, and tools or a vision of the future (technological and scientific) to identity management.

Short talks (20 minutes): an abstract of up to two pages presenting the lecture proposal on current theoretical or practical issues related to identity management (see topics of interest).

Abstracts may be written in Portuguese or English; their formatting must follow the SBC model for publishing articles available on the SBC portal (only the abstract or summary is required). Articles will be submitted exclusively in PDF format through the SBC JEMS system:

https://jems3.sbc.org.br/sbseg2025-wgid

Submitted contributions will be evaluated by program committee members and those selected will be organized for presentation during the WGID. Accepted abstracts will be published in the extended SBSeg proceedings.

Dear authors, please check the SBC Code of Conduct (https://sol.sbc.org.br/index.php/indice/conduta), especially regarding Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This edition of SBSeg/WGID will be in person. Accepted talks must be presented live by the author in a session of up to 20 minutes. All accepted articles will be published on the SBC SOL platform.
